The Toyota USA Foundation, Spatial Sci, The University of Montana, and the Montana Association of Geographic Professionals (MAGIP) sponsor annual Montana GIS in Schools Competitions for middle and high school students.

Competition themes include:

• 2006-2007:  Montana’s Changing Snow Pack and what it Means for your Community.
• 2007-2008:  Mapping Montana's Energy Alternatives
