  Description
    Abstract:
      Path of the Continental Divide through Montana.
      In Montana, the Continental Divide separates the watershed
      of the Columbia River from the watersheds of the Mississippi
      and Nelson Rivers.  This data is based on 1:100,000 scale
      U.S. Geological Survey quadrangles.
  Use_Constraints:
    Do not use this data at scales greater than 1:100,000, or if
    it is not acceptable for the representation of the Continental
    Divide's position be 50 meters from its true position.

Data_Quality_Information:

  Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy_Report:
    The approximate horizontal accuracy of the base maps is 51
    meters, assuming they meet National Map Accuracy Standards.

  Process_Step
    Process_Description:
      Dissolve the hydrologic unit polygons based on the first
      two digits of their hydrologic unit codes.  Delete lines that
      represent the state boundary.  Generalize the lines with a
      tolerance of 10 meters.  Edit the data to properly follow
      the Continental Divide between Mount Custer and the boundary
      with Canada.
