Introduction to Google Earth

Great Falls (April 17th and 18th, 2010)
(Graduate and OPI Renewal Credits Available)

A workshop to build teaching competence in using 3D geospatial technology in the classroom.

Google Earth in the Classroom.  Want to learn more about how to effectively use this cool new technology in your classroom?  This is the workshop for you.  Whether you are a beginning technology user or an old pro, this workshop will help participants better understand how this tool can be used across disciplines and grade levels.  Workshops attendees will learn how to create tours, embed digital data, import GPS points, and overlay new imagery into Google Earth within the context of national and state standards.  Come and experience an engaging new way of learning about the world in which we live.

The 1st day of instruction will introduce you to Google Earth, from navigating the globe to creating a virtual tour with embedded videos and images. The 2nd day will take you out of this world, teaching you how to explore Mars, the Sky, the Moon, and the Ocean, in addition to teaching you more advanced features of Google Earth, like creating image overlays, importing GPS data, and adding voice narration and custom elements to tours.
